La Ruta Del Sol – Luciano’s Diary, Video Documentary

Underscoring the significance of the album, Tribute to the Sun will be released as a special CD/DVD package. On the DVD, Swiss director Raphael Sibilla documents Luciano‘s last South American tour in a 52 minutes film called La Ruta Del Sol – Luciano’s Diary. Following him for three weeks through Lima, Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo and of course Santiago de Chile, the city so crucial to Luciano‘s musical origins.

The documentary introduces fans to the musician in a way they have likely never have seen him before. On stage, behind the decks, behind the scenes and on the road, this intimate portrait of the artist makes the perfect complement to an album that’s as much a personal as a musical milestone.

Last year, Minus celebrated its ten year anniversary with CONTAKT – a free-flowing, improvisational show involving the label’s top DJs and live performers backed up by state of the art visuals. The fly-on-the-wall documentary edited by Niamh Guckian (Totally Wired Movie) superbly documents the journey, offering a unique, behind the scenes look at what makes this crazy, passionate and highly focused group of individuals tick, as they attempt to redefine the conventional clubbing experience.

The Contakt DVD will go on general release later this year, however there’ll be a sneak preview of the documentary in London on 25 September, the evening before the hotly anticipated London Contakt Special event at O2 Academy Brixton.

BerMuDa or Berlin Music Days

From September 16th to 19th, 2009, Berlin is going to be all abuzz with the Berlin Music Days, or BerMuDa for short!

It’s actually hard to believe that Berlin’s electronic music world didn’t get together earlier to launch its own trade show or festival format, allowing it to break free from the outdated structures of the Popkomm and similar music events. As the world capital of electronic music, and considering the artists and labels at home here, Berlin has long had the ability to become a Mecca for music fans from all over the world. All the big names of the electronic music scene moved to Berlin long ago because of the city’s impressive locations and artist- friendly infrastructure.

Sony Music relaunches Dance label Deconstruction

Sony Music have announced that they’ll be relaunching their seminal dance label Deconstruction this year.

Over the years the label brought us classics from the likes of Blackbox, K-Klass, Sasha, Deep Dish, Felix, De’Lacy, Way Out West, Lionrock, N-Joi, The Grid, and less discerning material from the likes of Republica, Robert Miles and M-People.

No word yet on what they’ll be releasing or signing, but if they can hit the same form they had in the ‘90s, we’re in for a treat or two.

Tom Pooks is a French DJ and producer, originally from Montpellier located in the South of France. For a long time, he’s been in our “wish list” for an exclusive mix, but now we know that this day will happen very soon and we are very pleased and proud. OK Corral – Pink Shue EP

After breaking the international boundaries with Planetarium EP released at Craft Music, and Romania at Great Stuff Recordings, OK Corral will release a new EP, this time at Beef Records in Czech. Pink Shue EP will have four tracks, Pink Shue (Green Goblin Version), Pink Shue (Ruby Version), a remix made by Shades of Gray, owners of Beef Rec. and a remix produced by Jori Hulkkonen, the finish artists known for his master pieces albums and releases with F Comm, Turbo Recordings and many others.

OK Corral went back to the roots of house music with this very groovy and melodic EP, flashing oriental senses over the melodic lines, giving the EP a very unique sound and rhythm. At the same time Jori Hulkkonen managed to create a remix for Green Goblin version that keeps the original vibe of the song but making it a very “Jori Hulkkonen remix”.
